In Tara Drouin’s One Heart, we are taught a very valuable lesson. Even though we might not look the same, we all have one heart. While some people have straight hair and others curly, or eyes of blue, green, and brown, or different skin tones, we are reminded that despite this we still have one heart. Some people enjoy the sun, the rain, or the snow, and some people like sleeping in or getting up early. We are once again reminded that we have one heart and that each day we wake up is a brand new start.

I loved the concept and the message that One Heart delivers to its young audience. Even though we are different in many ways, we all share a common ground and are alike on the inside. I love how Drouin drives the message home that we have one heart and that each day is a new start. It’s very important to teach our children at a young age to be accepting of everyone, no matter what they look like or the things that make them who they are. The book lets children know that each day they have a chance to make a difference and to change their world one step or day at a time. The illustrations are beautiful and go perfectly with the story being told. They are colorful and bright which will capture the attention of the young reader. I thought that Tara Drouin has done a wonderful job with One Heart. I will be recommending this book to friends of mine with children. I can’t wait to see what else this amazing author comes out with.
