Finally, The Murder of Crows Series has come full circle with One Tin Soldier: A Post-Apocalyptic Superhero Novel. Author Chris Tullbane has dispatched his main protagonist, Damian Banach, as well as his other host of characters, into their final destinies. The first book (See the Bones) is a clincher, the second (Red Right Hand) is purposeful, and this third is the resolution for the Crow who wants to become a Cape. It gathers all the plot threads to weave Damian into one final adventure. This time, he volunteers for a mission into the Badlands, not for the purpose of relief work, but to implement a standing favor for Her Majesty that is past overdue. He is searching for Dr. Nowhere, the man whose dream has done a lot more than just bring superpowers into the world. Meanwhile, Tezcatlipoca, the mastermind and self-proclaimed god, is taking over the vast majority of Mexico.

One Tin Soldier has given the trilogy its full arc. I admire it even more as a whole as it certifies Chris Tullbane’s work as the product of immense creativity. As the culmination of the series, it is a crowning achievement in the visionary use of the superpower and dystopian theme in speculative fiction. As a necromancer struggling against the hostile reception of the people around him for the power that he wields, Damian has managed to emerge and redeem himself through his actions and motives. It is generous in both action and psychological depth, and One Tin Soldier becomes a work for readers of all ages craving a storyline with feelings and gravitas. You will feel something for Damian, who has matured along his journey. This is going to be the last that you will read about him, and you will never feel so at peace with a story set in a dystopian world.

One Tin Soldier: A Post-Apocalyptic Superhero Novel is a work of fiction in the action, adventure, and science fiction subgenres, and was penned by author Chris Tullbane. Listed as the third novel in the Murder of Crows series, the work is intended for the adult reading audience and contains explicit language throughout, as well as scenes of graphic violence. Finishing a trilogy of adventures that follow protagonist Damian Banach’s progress, we find ourselves on the hunt for the dangerous Dr. Nowhere as Banach ventures into the Badlands to complete his quest. As he takes on this final mission to find the elusive figure responsible for the Break, the stakes are higher than ever.

Author Chris Tullbane rockets into high gear with this sensational conclusion to a very exciting trilogy indeed. Mature readers will surely be captivated by the visceral quality of the novel’s many action sequences, which are cinematic in their account of Damian’s prowess as a Crow and bursting with the atmosphere of the danger and destruction he faces. The plot twists on a knife-edge, creating a constant sense of suspense as the hunt intensifies for Dr. Nowhere and new terrors lurk around every corner. As the pace picks up, this is a novel that becomes un-put-downable, with readers eagerly awaiting the next twist as we get more and more invested in Damian’s burning desire to see his mission through. Overall, I would highly recommend One Tin Soldier to readers of the existing series and the series in general to fans of exciting post-apocalyptic action thrills. You won’t be disappointed for even a moment.

One Tin Soldier: A Post-Apocalyptic Superhero Novel is the third book in The Murder of Crows series by Chris Tullbane. Damien is back at the Academy of Heroes, but not to stay for long. It is the time for the third year to start their internship with the Free State Cape teams or join the Mission to offer relief to the Badlands. As the only Crow at the Academy, Damien knows he needs to go above and beyond to fight off the judgmental approach of his peers. So, he volunteers for the Mission. However, this is not the only reason why Damien is ready for the Badlands. Dr. Nowhere is there somewhere, and Damien believes it is his responsibility to find him and exact justice. But finding your mortal enemy is not easy, especially someone like Dr. Nowhere who is a master of trickery. Can Damien find him before it is too late?

Finally, a dystopian novel that is not depressing at all. Author Chris Tullbane writes a compelling story that is at once entertaining and believable. Instead of only showing decay and sadness, the author actually adds a nice plot and a strong protagonist to make One Tin Soldier interesting. Damien is not your typical dystopian protagonist. He has growth, he develops at a realistic pace and he has a character arc that reaches the perfect point. The pace of the story is fast without being too fast, the characters are given ample page space to tell their story and connect with readers. I loved the dialogues and Damien’s quirky personality. He is smart without being overbearing. The narrative is fantastic, and the end is very fitting too!
