Lauren Bingham approaches her topic frankly, explaining that a writer has to make tough choices because writing fiction is a task that requires planning, preparation, and a lot of work. The author's function isn't limited to imagining plots or scenarios or writing a certain quota of words a day. You also have to take care of many external aspects and prepare for future success. Bingham shares her experience in One Word at a Time: How to Write a Fiction Book for Beginners, pointing out that writing is also an enjoyable and enriching process. This book covers many aspects of storytelling and gives advice on how to best describe characters. It also deals with the emotional aspects and gives many suggestions plus exercises to improve your writing.

One Word at a Time has clear explanations, with practical examples and activities that are engaging, which is why I enjoyed it so much. One of my favorite parts was when Lauren Bingham described how to create dynamic dialogues, providing entertaining examples and teaching readers the correct techniques. Apart from describing characters, the book demonstrates the way to express moods and how to select the appropriate words to simplify the content while retaining the meaning. The examples used are based on well-known stories and are useful. Bingham motivates aspiring authors to find the passion and perspective they need to build a story that flows naturally.
