We all are different and may live far away from each other, but we have one thing in common. It is our home - our planet. Our mutual task is to take good care of our beloved home and to keep it clean. But what can children do to help the planet? They can pick up the trash, so birds or animals cannot eat it. Children should learn how to recycle trash and use bicycles to ensure cleaner air. Saving water and energy is another good deed that would benefit us all. Our Cleaner, Greener Planet by Lindsey Coker Harris tells children from four to eight years of age how to be responsible and shows them easy ways of protecting the environment.

Written in rhyme, Our Cleaner, Greener Planet sends out a positive and important message: "Take care of our world, and it will take care of you." I appreciated that Lindsey Coker Harris instills a love for animals in her young readers. She asks them to be kinder to their neighbors, urging children to be more compassionate and attentive. This is a family-friendly book, as Lindsey offers adult readers a fun and educational activity to enjoy with their children - to plant a tree and explain its role in the production of oxygen. Vibrant illustrations by the talented YenNhi depict children of different cultural backgrounds. The book is perfect for educational purposes as it covers all the key elements of environmental issues.
