In Ozzy Penguin Gets Frustrated by S.A. Schneider we are introduced to a small family of penguins. Ozzy was woken up and told that he needed to get ready for school. The day started fine until he told his father that he could put his shoes and socks on by himself. This task was easier said than done and the more he struggled the more he let those bad feelings build up. Mama Penguin told Ozzy that instead of yelling he should take a deep breath, rub his belly, and tell them what is bothering him. Ozzy told them that he was frustrated, agitated, and mad. He told his mother that he was sad because he couldn’t put his socks and shoes on by himself, so his mother helped him out. It was not only Ozzy that had issues with frustration and anger. When Papa Penguin accidentally spilled Mama Penguin's coffee, she immediately felt the same anger as little Ozzy. By following the three steps she gave to Ozzy, Mama was able to calm down and explain why she was mad. Finally, when both Ozzy and Mama Penguin were settled and no longer frustrated they took little Ozzy to school.

I thought this was such an adorable story. It might have been made for children to read but it helped me with the agitation and frustration that I am experiencing now. It just shows that you can learn new things especially new coping methods in something as simple as a children’s book. The illustrations are beautiful and wonderfully done. They fit perfectly with the storyline. I think that S.A. Schneider has done a wonderful job with Ozzy Penguin Gets Frustrated. There is another Ozzy book coming soon and I will be looking forward to reading it.
