Peace Breathing: Lessons on Achieving Peace in Everyday Life is a nonfiction inspirational self-help book written by Charles H.C. Kim. Kim is the son of MyungSu YuSung Kim, the founder of The Peace School, and he has been the president of the school since his father’s passing in 1999. Each of the 31 stories in this book are designed to help facilitate the realization that you can be a part of world peace in your everyday life. While these can be read as a collection, the author suggests reading one lesson per day, which involves the reader in a month-long inspirational course. The lessons are in the form of parables or fables. Lesson 1 contrasts the turbulence of the ocean’s surface with the deep, abiding stillness to be found under the waves. When dealing with stressful or emotional situations, one often reacts as those waves do, tossing to and fro. Calming thoughts and peace breathing can enable one to quiet the mind and emulate the stillness and serenity of the ocean’s depths.

I read Peace Breathing: Lessons on Achieving Peace in Everyday Life in one sitting. I couldn’t help myself. I wanted to continue hearing more of what Mr. Kim had to say. But while I did so, I realized that I would want to come back and spend some time with each of the motivational lessons contained in this book. I was especially intrigued by the concept of Peace Breathing, as I’ve practiced Transcendental Meditation for many years, and I was curious to see how the two could complement each other. Since reading this book, I’ve found myself Peace Breathing throughout the day and even sometimes when I wake up at night. I love the idea of being part of a movement towards world peace, and the act of peace breathing does actually bring peace and tranquility. Peace Breathing: Lessons on Achieving Peace in Everyday Life is most highly recommended.

This book exemplifies the saying that the best things come in small packages! Charles H.C. Kim presents 31 short lessons in the nonfictional work, Peace Breathing: Lessons on Achieving Peace in Everyday Life. The suggested way to absorb the wisdom contained in this book is to read one lesson each morning and meditate on it throughout the day. The lesson may be in the form of a story, an inspirational insight or thoughts to ponder. To grasp the depth of each one, the lessons should be contemplated. The meditative technique, called Peace Breathing, is one of the simplest and most profound ways to bring calmness to a hectic lifestyle. It can be done anywhere or anytime, with no one else being any the wiser. However, over time, coworkers, friends and family members may notice the peacefulness emanating from you.

One of the best features of this book is that each lesson is easy to understand and relatable to every reader. While some meditative practices may seem difficult, or too time-consuming, this technique is easy to learn and easy to continue daily. The author writes in a smooth, flowing manner, adding to the seeming simplicity of each chapter. Yet, each one is thought-provoking, with layers of meaning within the lessons. Additionally, how one person’s energy affects the entire world is well explained. Peace Breathing: Lessons on Achieving Peace in Everyday Life by Charles H.C. Kim will be helpful to those beginning a meditative practice, or those who desire a return to the basics.

Are you looking for simple, straightforward advice on how to bring peace into your life? Are you starting with a meditation practice and looking for guidance? Look no further than Peace Breathing: Lessons on Achieving Peace in Everyday Life by Charles H.C. Kim. This book offers 31 talks on practical, everyday issues we face such as building a solid foundation, keeping calm deep within, accepting the unexpected, healthy relationships and connections with others, achieving balance, individuality, embracing energy, and living in harmony with all around you. The content in these talks gives you wise parables, deep insights, and support through meditation in a direct manner that’s easy to read, easy to comprehend, and gives wise insight for living a good life.

I believe that Peace Breathing: Lessons on Achieving Peace in Everyday Life, would be a wonderful daily meditation guide for a month of studies. This allows the lessons to “sink in” and build on one another to greater revelation and promise for a more harmonious, balanced life. I like the way that the book is written in simple language, and uses a mixture of real life examples and stories to make the points. One thing in particular that I like is that Charles H.C. Kim talks about stories he’s heard and experiences that others have shared with him. I’ve read other similar works on meditation and mindfulness, and one problem is that the reader bogs you down in their personal experience, but doesn’t share how it applies to you. That’s not a problem in this book, as the stories and experiences are widely diverse and are clear in meaning and easy to interpret in your own life. This book is a great guide to start on the path if you’re looking for a month long devotional on meditation and mindfulness, or even if you know the path and just need a quick refresher.
