Author Biography

Cazzy Zahursky is a wife and mother of two girls and a rambunctious Australian shepherd. She views life as a series of children's book ideas sprouting up at the most unexpected of moments. When she isn't doodling or writing, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, volunteering at her children's schools, and working out.

She believes that every child has the ability to fall in love with reading. It's just a matter of finding the right book. She also believes in magic, the magic of transporting young readers into imaginary worlds through the power of marring her words with her illustrations into the itty-bitty confines of a book.

Perspective Detective by Cazzy Zahursky is a delightful storybook about Lexa and Axel, who get into a disagreement. Lexa believes Axel took her toy bear, so she grabs his toy car. Perspective Detectives get involved in helping them solve the mystery of the missing toy bear. As they search, Axel and Lexa learn a lot about how perspective can change their outlook. Together they learn about empathy and how by empathizing, they can change their perspective, have a more positive outlook and communicate kindly with each other by understanding others' perspectives. The beautiful story includes optical illusion illustrations that will baffle, delight, and engage young children, keeping them entertained throughout.

Perspective Detective by Cazzy Zahursky is more than a story; it's an experience for young children as they attempt to decipher the images and puzzles in the book. I loved reading this book. I was charmed by how Zahursky incorporated the pictures in a fun and playful way while keeping the story theme in mind. The story of the missing toy bear was weaved through all the images from start to finish while Axel and Lexa learned critical lessons about being good to each other. By simply changing their perspective, they changed their mood and relationship with each other from negative to positive. Perspective Detective by Cazzy Zahursky is a brilliant storybook; artistic, creative, and original. It's interactive, intellectually stimulating, and will open the minds of young children to the wonder of learning. Children will enjoy reading this book over and over and sharing it with their friends.

This is a fun and interactive story that teaches an important lesson about the way we see the world. I feel like a lot of kids will not only learn the word "perspective" through this book, but will be able to apply the meaning of it to their real lives.

Through a series of illusions, the Perspective Detective shows kids that people do not necessarily view things the same way and that it's important to consider other people's points of view. Readers of all ages will have fun exploring the illusions scattered throughout the story as they work to solve the mystery of the missing teddy. I love how the illusions made the book even more engaging! Reader's will surely connect with the moral of the story and have fun doing so.

Overall, this is such a creative book that presents a valuable lesson in a fun way. It's perfect for children to learn more about their interactions with others! I definitely recommend.

It’s a perfect book for children to start a conversation about what perception is. Because we are all so unique, our perceptions of the world can be also very different. You can have five people sitting in the room, listening to the same story and when you ask questions, you will get five different answers. Just because our background and values are different and what is important to us is different. It’s such a great conversation starter about empathy, understanding, tolerance, and allowing people to have different opinions. It can be used at home, at school or even in therapy.

This book is very unique too because through perfect rhyming story detectives will go on a search for a missing teddy. Kids will have to read hidden clues and use their senses to find out where the teddy is. Some of them are based on optical illusions and it’s a lot of fun not only for kids!

Cazzy has got more unique books in her collection, and I can promise you won't be disappointed!

I would highly recommend it!
