Pulling Together is a children's picture book about friendship and working together by Lois Wickstrom with illustrations by Janet King. Lila's Grammie always says we all pull together, but what does it mean? One day, she finds her Grammie knitting something with three neck holes. Lila cannot understand Grammie's latest creation. At first, she thinks Grammie has made a mistake, but she insists it is a poncho with three neck holes. Lila wears the massive poncho and runs into the neighborhood to find her friends, Adam and Malka. She and her friends encounter some problems while playing, which finally makes her realize the meaning of what her Grammie has been saying all along. Get yourself a copy and find out how Lila will apply Grammie's cryptic words to solve her problems.

I loved reading Pulling Together because it has a beautiful message about teamwork. The story also covers the topic of bullying and gratitude. I liked how Lois Wickstrom tackles all these issues and presents ideal solutions that children can easily understand. The story is perfect for kids and adults because everyone learns something after reading it. Wickstrom has done a great job creating these adorable characters. Lila is a happy child with everyday issues and fun friends and family. Her Grammie is a smart and intriguing character; she speaks in riddles and shows love to all the kids. My favorite part is the art. It reminds me of classic cartoons. They have the perfect blend of colors and are clear to see and understand. They corresponded with the story and bring each character to life. Great work.
