Author Biography

Lisa Ayotte, an educator in CT, loves finding ways to make reading easier and fun for children. She believes kids learn best when they can visualize and make connections to what they read. And when something is funny to them, even better!
Lisa decided to create her “Peeps” as unique and special as the students she’s taught over her many years as an elementary school teacher. She enjoys designing each scene, adding small details as she goes, to capture the reader's attention and help them focus on the "little" things.

Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! by Lisa Ayotte is a collection of funny jokes for children. It begins with asking questions, to which the reply is assured to make you chuckle, laugh, and roll your eyes. To help young readers understand the jokes, there are colorful pictures that lend credence to what is being said. It also encourages children to create their own jokes and make books out of them. Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! aims to teach youngsters the art of thinking outside the box and being creative and humorous while doing so. It makes use of puns (playing on words) to achieve this. It also uses animals, plants, food, and other things to create these jokes, thereby giving children a pictorial representation of the above and helping them to identify them.

The first thing that will attract any reader of Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! is the colorful illustrations. The designs perfectly depict the jokes and make them more understandable and funny. Another thing I loved is the author’s encouragement of creativity by asking readers to create their own jokes. In addition to this, children will see an improvement in their vocabulary skills. It will also help them with reading and spelling. Above all, it will teach them the art of critical thinking. Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! would be important to children during playtime and can be used by their teachers or parents to stimulate their minds and create a joyful and relaxed atmosphere before learning. I commend Lisa Ayotte for this great initiative and for touching the lives of children through witty jokes.

In the eleventh book in Lisa Ayotte’s series, she conveys jokes and a few riddles. Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! is filled with humorous witticisms for children. Each play on words is accompanied by a picture of a diorama, illustrating the theme of the joke. The material for the jokes and riddles plays on the wording in the text. Peeps, small representations of chicks, tell jokes and are featured in the dioramas. The author encourages young readers to come up with their own jokes and make a book filled with them.

Lisa Ayotte has created a fun book for children! The author skillfully crafts each diorama, adding another element of humor to the book. The scenes are playful, and the “peeps” seem to feel comfortable anywhere, whether they are at the movies or selling lemonade to dinosaurs. The words will support language learning and the answers involve critical thinking skills. Children will acquire skills from reading the book and have fun, too. Jokes are meant to be shared, so reading the material to family and friends will build their confidence in reading. Children older than five will understand the jokes best, and my nine-year-old daughter thought every joke was hilarious. The puns aren’t overly used, so most of the material will be new to readers. The author imparts encouraging messages to lift children’s spirits and promote kindness. Adults may like the creative jokes found in the book, so it is not limited to children. Readers who enjoy jokes will love reading Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps!

Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! is a collection of funny pun-infused jokes and riddles. Let me give you some hints. Do you know what the math teacher’s favorite dessert is? Can you guess what has many ears but cannot hear? Okay, where can you find the teacher with the most pencils? Ha! I bet you won't guess the genius answers coming. Pun, fun, and dry humor describe this collection by Lisa Ayotte. The play with words also stimulated my vocabulary and thinking faculties. Although it is the eleventh book in the series, it is perfect as a standalone, and I’d be delighted to read the other installments.

What I liked most about this book is that the jokes were amazingly good; I would roll my eyes and then laugh inwardly. The silly illustrations featuring Punny Peeps made the jokes more amusing. Punny Peeps are like little sesames with googly eyes and blank expressions. I have to confess that I didn’t understand a few jokes, but a quick Google search often clarified them. I had fun reading this book, and the end came too soon. If you’d like a lighthearted quick read, Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! is a sure bet for everyone. It could be read solo, or it could be a fun game book for friends and family. It is also sweet that Lisa Ayotte provides a guide on how to write a joke book, and I just might jot down my own silly musings.

Why shouldn't you trust stairs? They're always up to something. This pun is not in Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! because an element of successful punning is the surprise of the punch line. Saying that chances are that the reaction of children of all ages to the potent puns in this book would include giggling, smiling, or cringing just a bit. It is common knowledge that in many ways, humor in any form can affect the young much the same as it does in adults—with a jolt of joy. But as Lisa Ayotte explains, introducing young minds to the unique type of humor of the pun can yield unexpected results. Punning enhances problem-solving abilities, broadens creativity, and enhances the ability to form bonds with others. Vivid full-page illustrations contain clues to the answers while providing visual stimulation to make punch lines more memorable.

In Lisa Ayotte’s explanation of what the puns in the book mean—as this is book 11 of a series—it is clear they open myriad ways for young minds to accrue knowledge and perspective. Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! demonstrates that successful punning depends on understanding situations and language. In seeking answers, a child develops skills in word and thought play. The ability to consider and retain ideas alone is significant. Beyond delightful entertainment—a parent enthusiastically reading this book with a child or a teacher making a giggly class game from the jokes and illustrations—the deceptively simple pun becomes an educational tool. In the wake of reading and sharing this engaging book, it is abundantly clear that pun time is much more than fun time.

Punny Jokes To Tell Your Peeps! (Book 11) is a humorous children's book written by Lisa Ayotte. A world of chuckles is definitely a bonus from this title, which is akin (to me) to reading the greatest hits of 'Dad's Jokes' - something I so truly love. The puns throughout are clever and get the mind thinking about how the joke itself works. Not only does it give the reader a wonderful conversation starter with a new friend, but it also lends credence to the adage of 'great minds think alike.' I know that so often in my own life, I have missed out on making a new friend simply because I had no idea what to talk about or what to say. Punny Jokes To Tell Your Peeps! will certainly solve this problem.

Vocabulary and conversational skills are not as easy to come by as they used to be, and Lisa Ayotte's pages upon pages of fun ways to communicate, as well as teaching yourself ways in which to build on your English skills are real bonuses to children in this day and age. Whether it comes to spelling bees in school or creating a story that can wow your teacher, there is no downside to adding Punny Jokes To Tell Your Peeps! to your ever-growing library, whether that library is at home, at school, or even at the local town center. Education is key here, and I highly recommend Punny Jokes To Tell Your Peeps! to all children over the age of 10 who look forward to excelling, whether in school or in their everyday personal lives. Enjoy the read as much as I did, and thank Lisa Ayotte on your way to your next brain-building book.
