Author Biography

Lisa Ayotte, an educator in CT, loves finding ways to make reading easier and fun for children. She believes kids learn best when they can visualize and make connections to what they read. And when something is funny to them, even better!
Lisa decided to create her “Peeps” as unique and diverse as the students she’s taught over her many years as an elementary school teacher. She enjoys designing each scene, adding small details as she goes, to capture the reader's attention and help them focus on the "little" things. Find out more at: punnypeeps.com

Life can be infinitely funny. Or, should I say punny? And who knows that better than children. Full of life and energy, children are always looking for the funny (aka punny) side of life. And what better way to share their joy of laughter than to share a few funny/punny jokes along the way. A twist of a word here, a few silly words there and the result is a whole lot of laughter and a whole lot of fun. It’s also a great way to improve a young person’s vocabulary and, when the jokes/puns are written down, it’s another great tool for teaching reading skills. Remember, children love to laugh.

Lisa Ayotte’s book of laughter, Punny Peeps’ Fun Farm Jokes, is another funny/ punny addition to her growing collection of humorous books for children. With a simple question/answer format, these jokes/puns are easy to remember, and, like a chicken might say, ‘egg-cellent’ for reading and vocabulary learning tools. The theme for this book is farm animals and with cute illustrations that are just as amusingly inspiring as the jokes they accompany, this book is another winner. I particularly like the ‘egg’ and ‘chicken’ jokes. “How do chickens stay in shape? They eggs-ercise!” Very clever. And this one: “What do you call chickens in a hot tub? Soup!” Each joke/pun is introduced with an illustration and the question is identified as “Peep 1,” while the answer is identified as “Peep 2.” The font is large and bold and the illustrations assist in the recollection of the joke pun. I love these books. I wonder what’s next in this series? Life in outer space perhaps?

Punny Peeps' Fun Farm Jokes by Lisa Ayotte is a collection of jokes in question-and-answer format about farm animals. The jokes appear alongside cute, funny, and interesting settings of little farm animals depicting each of the jokes. The settings of the jokes are especially peculiar, and the attention to detail is evident and striking. The jokes are short and punchy, making it quick and easy for children to remember and share with their friends and family. Although short, with one joke per page, the images are so inventive and exciting that children will spend a lot of time delighting in the charm that the images ignite. Little ones will have fun just looking at and deciphering the situation and the farm animals and have a good laugh.

Punny Peeps' Fun Farm Jokes by Lisa Ayotte is an inventive, creative, and humorous book that will bring out every child's playful side. It's impossible to read this book and not smile and giggle at the jokes alongside the interesting farm animals in unusual settings. Punny Peeps' Fun Farm Jokes by Lisa Ayotte is a picture book for young children. Is your child a jokester or sees themselves as a bit of a comedian? Then this book will be the perfect fit for them. Containing 32 hilarious jokes, this book is jam-packed with everything they'll need to start making people laugh. It provides the young reader with beginner jokes in a fun and easy-to-remember way. If that isn't enough to convince you to pick up a copy, then the creative real-life images will surely do the trick. So what are you waiting for? Dive into Lisa Ayotte's creative book and let the laughter begin!

Punny Peeps' Fun Farm Jokes had me in stitches from the very first page. The jokes are simple yet effective in making you laugh instantly, which I feel will give children a higher sense of accomplishment after they deliver them. A lot of children fancy themselves to be comedians; we've all known a class clown at some point in our childhoods, and what better way to start them off than to give them a book that already contains hilarious content?

As well as providing children with baseline jokes, I found that this book could do so much more than that. For example, it could give them a confidence boost, or inspire them to make new friends who also like to be funny. The list of benefits your child will get from reading this wonderful book is endless. So whether your child wants to be funny or not, they will enjoy every page of Punny Peeps' Fun Farm Jokes, just as much as I did. Congrats, Lisa Ayotte, I'm sure the book will be a success!

Riddles galore! Punny Peeps’ Fun Farm Jokes by Lisa Ayotte is a fun little book. The illustrations alone are worth the cost of the book. But then you add the jokes/riddles and have a treasure trove of amusement. This book will land smack dab on your funny bone. Using farm animals such as chickens, sheep, pigs, and horses, Lisa raises corny humor to a new art form. Children of all ages will enjoy perusing this book. I am 68 years old and known for my corny but clean humor. However, by reading this book, I have been able to add more humor to my already massive repertoire. Laughter is good for family bonding; reading this book together will help the family bond. Remember, when children grow up, what they remember about their childhood is often the fun they had.

Lisa Ayotte has not only authored a humorous book featuring farm animals. She knows that illustrating the jokes will help children understand and remember them. Presenting each joke/riddle with children’s toy animals is genius. Punny Peeps’ Fun Farm Jokes is easy for the youngest readers to read and understand. In an age where good, clean jokes have disappeared, this book is a gem. Even those who have done the hard work of raising animals will find something to laugh about in this book. If you don’t have at least one belly laugh as you read this book, I advise you to have your funny bone checked. I can’t imagine how much time staging each picture took, but the effort paid off. This book is a visual delight as well as a delight to read.
