Alice Hightower has it all. She is the CEO of a successful medical device company working on a revolutionary heart bypass product that could change and improve the lives of those with heart conditions. Alice stays in a lovely apartment and has an amazingly handsome and efficient assistant. She appears to have everything under control, but at sunset, Alice retreats to her closet to find clothing for the night's adventures outside her balcony door. In her fantasies, Alice can be whoever she wants and meets men to fulfill her erotic desires. Alice's mother suffers from bipolar disorder, and Alice believes it's only a matter of time before she joins her mother in the loony bin. As Alice continues to explore her nightly escapades, the line between what is real and imaginary in her life becomes harder to differentiate.

Melissa Rea's Rabbithole is a fast-paced story about a successful, high functioning bipolar woman who struggles with self-image, depression, and dealing with the everyday stresses of life. The story puts me in the mind of A Beautiful Mind with references to Alice in Wonderland. In the story, Alice must maneuver being a successful businesswoman, a daughter, a good friend, and navigating her love interests all while trying to manage her own bipolar disorder. Melissa Rea's writing is captivating and sucks you in from the moment you begin to read. The writing was so detailed that I felt like I was transported along with Alice on her nightly events. A story that is full of passion, adventure, and moments of suspense, Melissa Rea's Rabbithole is a must-read.
