Refined in the Furnace of Affliction is one man’s memoirs. John McCullock courageously shares the trials he has faced. Life has not always been kind to McCullock, but God has. This book is about more than this man’s life. This book is about God’s presence in the midst of life’s storms. McCullock wrote Refined in the Furnace of Affliction in the hopes of encouraging others. He is following his calling. His style is conversational. At times, I could almost hear the pain in his voice. At other times, triumphs shown through.

Was McCullock’s life different from your life or mine? The trials are different, but we all face trials. McCullock demonstrates what happens when we turn those trials over to God. He shows what happens when we allow God to work through us. Romans 8:28 says it so much better than I can, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
