Author Biography

Amy Marie is a first-time author of the Statera Saga. She has lived all over the United States, but will always call Ohio her home. A huge fan of all fiction, she is always looking to get lost in the relaxing escape of a good novel. She’s worked several years for a major book retailer, and now enjoys a career in aviation as an air traffic controller. A sucker for a good old-fashioned good versus evil story, she’s been inspired to take on authoring a trilogy of her own. She delights in her friends and family, and the cuddles of her dog Brutus.

Reminiscence by Amy Marie is the first book in the Statera Saga. Nora Hutchinson's dreams are getting eerie, almost like memories of places she's never been before. When a mysterious man saves her, the story he tells her is beyond insane: he was born centuries ago, and has been cursed to stay in the darkness. She knows in her heart that he's telling the truth. As history relives through the present, Nora must join the charming Darcy in an ancient quest to find a book that holds the answer to saving the world from evil.

Based on the Platonic theory, Reminiscence is a romantic and modern retelling - with an unique and urban fantasy twist - on the classic tale of “Beauty and the Beast.” I enjoyed the meta element with Nora reflecting on her favorite fairytale, “Beauty and the Beast,” comparing it with her own situation. The past plays a huge role, coming back to haunt them as Nora remembers a past not her own, and Darcy is literally from another time. The more Nora learns about the past, the more she's able to address her present, as well as the future. I love how all these little clues come together by the end in a very unique take on good versus evil, light and dark. The characters are charming and compelling, both fitting in as fairytale archetypes, and turning away from the usual stereotypes. Amy Marie weaves romance, humor, destiny, and history into a delightful story perfect for fairytale lovers!
