Requiem For Geraldine Gerdil is a whodunnit murder mystery written by J. Stewart Willis. A popular children's book author named Daphne O'Hanlon is shot beside the front door of her house in Alexandria, Virginia, leading to intense public scrutiny and speculation around the neighborhood. When Detective Drury Metzinger and his partner, Leslie Givens, are assigned the case, they quickly discover that the popular children's books were, in fact, written by Daphne's oldest daughter, Freddie. As multiple suspects come across Metzinger and Givens' scanner, the investigation takes another complicated turn with the murder of Daphne's estranged husband, Oliver Winslow. Meanwhile, Givens is stabbed, and Metzinger finds himself suspended for a short while. Can the detectives get back on track and solve the mystery once and for all?

If you're a fan of whodunnit murder mysteries such as the Hollywood hit Knives Out, you'll love Requiem For Geraldine Gerbil. Author J Stewart Willis weaves an intricate plot filled with numerous twists and turns that keep you hooked throughout the pages. The characters are full of quirks and distinct personalities that get fleshed out with each turn of the page. Metzinger and Givens form a compelling team, and you find yourself rooting for them as they navigate their personal and professional lives. In addition, Joss and Freddie's flexible morals make them thoroughly captivating to read about, as you're never really sure what they're capable of. I can honestly say that I couldn't predict the ending, yet found it immensely satisfying. Highly recommended to readers who enjoy sleuth stories.
