Revoked Consent is a work of fiction in the socio-political and dystopian sub-genres, and was penned by author Ian Minielly. Set in a similar time and place to our own contemporary experience, in this dystopian novel we see revolution and revolt at the hands of a small group of critics who are willing to open their minds to government deception and the worldwide bonds that prevent their freedoms. What results is a tense tale with many different revolts taking place, and the deaths of prominent figures changing the nature of the world piece by piece. It is a bitter struggle and one which the central group finds sometimes satisfying and at other times grueling to maintain.

There is something very classic in the work of author Ian Minielly which sparks of the days of realistic science fiction that attempted to predict science fact. The sincerity and conviction of the narration make for a strong story, and whether you agree with the political ideas of the piece or not, the revolt certainly makes excellent and exciting reading. Minielly writes with a quiet authority that produces more of a big picture piece than an emotive character drama, but the wider themes of justice, freedom and truth are in themselves emotive, and our opinions on those ideas involve us deeply in the tale as readers, spectators to the inventive and poignant twists of his revolutionary plot. Overall, I would recommend Revoked Consent to readers seeking an interesting perspective on the political uproar and an accomplished dystopian read for adult audiences.
