Harrison Collins, the wealthy owner of Collins industries, could barely come to terms with the discovery of his only daughter’s pregnancy. Perhaps it was because Carolyn Collins was pregnant by Harrison’s gardener Evan, or being a rich business owner in the 1960s, Harrison expected much more than this from his precious and highly educated daughter. Harrison rejected Carolyn, but before he could reconcile with her, something terrible happened, leaving Evan alone with their daughter Cara. In a bid to stop Harrison from taking Cara away from Evan, Harrison’s son Wayne helps Evan acquire a new identity and escape. Harrison was determined to find his granddaughter. Now living under the assumed names of Owen and Grace, what will happen to Evan and Cara? Get yourself Rosedust by EB Converse to discover more.

EB Converse’s Rosedust is just what you should be looking for if you are a lover of spicy romance novels laced with defiance, betrayal, love, deceit, passion, rage, resentment, agony, fate, drug addiction, war, and money. Converse weaves an intriguing plot, unfolding it using a dual timeline. The colorful depictions brought the scenes to life vividly. I found myself at the Fawnskin Motel in the Mojave Desert, helplessly watching Owen slide into alcoholism and push Grace away, or at Harrison’s mansion in Pasadena, waiting for everyone to drop their facades. Converse describes the well-crafted role players' emotions graphically. This coupled with their complex qualities made them authentic and easy to connect with. There is suspense, adventure, and humor in this book.

Rosedust by E B Converse starts with a bang, captures the reader's imagination, and holds it until the very last page. The author then takes the reader on a journey through time, revealing the prejudice, condemnation, affronts, society's norms and dictates, and judgmental attitudes of people then and today over the same things. Where were you born, who are your parents, and how much money do your parents or grandparents have? This is still very prevalent in today’s society. The book ends around the year 1989. The main characters are Harris Collins, his daughter Carolyn, his niece Mary, his son Wayne, gardener Owen Evans, Leslie and Ruth Maclaren, Sandy Maclaren, Nam Caledonia, Susan, Lance, Celia, Cher, and Eleanor Clairmont. Each of these characters helps shape the young couple that is born out of the ashes of the family's prejudices, hate, fear, and condemnation.

E B Converse has written a story with a strong message revolving around finding cures and medicines from plants as our ancestors had done for years. Rosedust is a most interesting, enchanting, and thoughtful read from the first to the last page. The reader wanders through the years, touching on each of the characters' lives and finding out how they all link together with the most delightful twists and turns, some moments of humor, some sad, and some downright annoying. The book highlights the same problems that we have carried forward from time immemorial to today and we are no closer to solving them or accepting that everyone is different. The world has not changed at all with its hypocrisy and hidden agendas, no matter who or what you are. Thank you for an interesting and memorable read.
