In Scavenger by CR Alvarez, readers learn that Trey panics when he arrives home to find that his son Sean is missing, and thus begins his horror story. Sean has been kidnapped by two very rich men, Wayne and Clayton. The men have devised their version of a scavenger hunt, strictly for their own amusement, with Sean as the final prize. The game begins and Trey is the chosen player who must find 12 envelopes hidden in different cities that will lead him to where his son is being kept. Ashley is an innocent teenager who gets caught up in the action and becomes part of the game, helping Trey to the finish line. Trey and Ashley frantically drive from place to place, facing danger at every new location, until they gather all the envelopes, hoping that the game will be over and Sean is at the finish line.

Scavenger was amazing from the first word right up until the unexpected ending. I found myself holding my breath and being pulled into the adventure as I stayed up reading late into the night. It was so hard to put the book down as I just wanted to keep reading until the end to find the answers. There have been several books that I have read which sent the players on scavenger hunts, but this one is by far the most exciting. CR Alvarez has written a story that has thrills, chills, danger, excitement, romance, greed, and so much more. This is a book for all young and old, women and men, and is a must-read.
