It’s 2248, and artificial intelligence has solved all of the world's problems – or so they thought. Life is a virtual utopia for those who have chosen to have their consciousness constantly updated digitally to ensure them immortal life. Death is no longer a problem, thanks to the integration of man and machine. Everything seems perfect, until the killings start again – a problem that they thought went extinct right along with death. Somehow, somebody has figured out not only how to murder people, but to hack the system to deny them the eternal life they signed on for. It’s up to Detective Andrew Crane to figure out why, which isn’t easy considering that the love of his life, Celeste, was one of the victims. Serial Killer by T.M. Caufield is a techno-thriller mystery that will keep you guessing right up until the last page, and beyond.

I enjoyed this book because it combines the best of my two favorite genres: science fiction and mystery/suspense. T.M. Caufield’s vision of the future is interesting and realistic, and I can see our future unfolding in such a manner. The science is sound, the technology is impressive, and the problems and solutions it offers are realistic. Likewise, the suspense element of the book is intriguing, and keeps you guessing at the 'how,' even after the killer is revealed. It’s a unique novel that captures your attention and imagination in all the right ways. Serial Killer is an excellent read that you’ll find yourself tearing through as fast as possible, and still pondering long after the last page is turned. An excellent novel!
