Author Biography

Reading has always been a passion of mine. I always wanted to become an author but it was a "someday" sort of goal. In 2017, I decided to make my dream a reality and began my first book. While I enjoy all fiction, historical novels particularly fascinate me.

My family and I live in Utah, USA. I grew up on horseback and treasured any time I could spend riding through the red sands and sagebrush. My husband Randon and I have four children - including a set of twins. Nothing makes me happier than being a wife and mother.... but reading is a very close second!

The late nineteenth century is full of stories of men (and women) intoxicated by the lure of riches just waiting to be mined in previously uncharted western North American territories. Entire towns sprang up, almost overnight, as people moved in to follow their lust for easy riches. This passion for wealth paralleled an equally intoxicating power to do evil, to kill and steal, in order to make one’s fortune. Clara’s father was murdered. While living with her aunt and cousin, her evil uncle returns and makes demands that she hand over her father’s wealth that had been left to her in trust. Fearing for her life, Clara disappears overnight, taking the stage coach as far away as she can from the evil uncle. Only, it’s not far enough. Evil has a means of finding its victim. But so does love.

Krystal M. Anderson’s historical fiction novella, Silver: Heart of a Miner Book One, is set in this rollicking era when evil lurks around every corner and everyone, it appears, is looking to make an easy fortune. The plot moves on at a rapid pace, paralleling the adventure of Clara’s flight with a budding romance that comes to a climax when the evil uncle reappears. The characters are realistic and well developed and the historical perspective has been thoroughly researched. The descriptive passages provide the reader with a good sense of place and the reader feels connected to the characters and the action. The story makes for a good comfort read as it combines mystery, adventure, romance, and history all in one story.
