Author Biography

Growing up in Michigan, Joanna was an avid reader at a young age. Her wild imagination led her sixth grade teacher to encourage her to become a writer. Instead, she aspired to be like Dr. Joyce Brothers. Upon completing her Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan, she moved to North Carolina and led a successful career as a psychotherapist for adults and children, with specific expertise in trauma treatment. But, her love for books and writing never left her.

Inspired by Stephen Hawking's A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME, Gary Zukav's THE DANCING WU LI MASTERS, and any ancient spiritual or religious text she could find, she became fascinated with particle physics, the purpose of life and the need for a story that illustrated how intertwined we all really are. Eventually, her craving for an action-adventure set inside a place like CERN led to the creation of Sinai Unhinged.

Additionally, because where there is darkness, there must also be light, her romantic holiday screenplay, A CRYSTAL CHRISTMAS, has been optioned by Citizen Skull Productions.

In her spare time, she and her husband can be found traveling up and down the southeast coast in any season, even the hot and steamy summer. More information can be found at joannaevanswriter.com.

Sinai Unhinged by Joanna Evans will keep you up at night. It's a science-fiction thriller about an experiment gone wrong. And isn't that the best kind in the world of entertainment? The main character is a therapist named Alexandra (Alex), who tries to get to the bottom of it. Enter the world of particle accelerators if you dare, and once you do, you'll be caught in the clutches of psychological suspense that would give Alex Jones nightmares. There isn't one wasted page in this novel. The plot is mesmerizing, the characters genuine, and the pace is perfect. The premise of the book will draw you in, but it's the execution that will keep you invested. If you like novels that aren't afraid to go over to the dark side, keep reading.

What I like about this book is that the science and experiment aspects aren't too hard to grasp. You begin to relate to what's going on, and you'll really feel for what's happening to Alex's friend, who is a scientist at the hospital where most of the story unfolds. What you have here is a high-stakes situation with danger and universal implications, as well as conspiracy overtones and a medical mystery. Definitely not a lackluster idea, especially where the physics and science are concerned. Besides the technical aspects of the storyline, the interpersonal relationships are what really drive this story along. Evans is highly skilled at pulling this off, and the dialogue is really good too. Stephen King fans will love Sinai Unhinged by Joanna Evans.
