The money when hunting witches was good but the quest itself was dangerous. Evan Striker knew the risks he was taking when he decided to search for Calesso. Knights got killed all the time when they went after Calesso. Despite others telling him the impossibility of the quest, Sir Evan is determined to see it through. He searches far and wide for clues about any witch, all to find his target, the sorceress Calesso. In his search, an informant tells him about a little cottage that is nicer than most places, less than half a day's journey by horse. The person there could either be the one he is looking for or could give him a clue that would bring him closer to finding Calesso. Where will his journey take him and what will he find along the way? Read Striker's Search by Michael Lanz to find out.

The first thing that stood out to me when I read Striker's Search by Michael Lanz is how honorable, brave, and clever Sir Evan Striker is. Despite his profession as a witch hunter, he does not immediately judge the people who are accused as witches. He makes the effort to know their stories first and make his decisions from there. The evenly-paced storyline is easy to get into. I thoroughly enjoyed Sir Evan's exciting adventures and how he solves problems and helps people along the way. The way Lanz portrays Sir Evan’s journey made me feel like I was going on his journey with him. Lanz proficiently weaves together a concise narrative and an enticing plot that made it hard to put the story down. The plot builds as Sir Evan encounters mystical creatures and gains allies in his travels. Riveting, fantastical, and enjoyable, Striker’s Search led me on an adventure like no other. Outstanding work!

Striker's Search is a work of fiction in the fantasy, action, adventure, and sword and sorcery subgenres. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience and was penned by author Michael Lanz. In this epic tale of danger, daring, and the quest for one’s family, we find ourselves in the far-off Kingdom of Terran, where Evan Striker is a wanted man. A knight turned witch hunter, Evan is determined to track down the elusive and magical Calesso, a sorceress that the people of Terran believe has been dead for a long time. Evan has good reason to believe otherwise, and everything he holds dear is on the line as his hunt for the notorious sorceress begins.

Author Michael Lanz has crafted a highly engrossing fantasy tale that encompasses everything a fan of the genre could want, from cinematic action sequences to engrossing, illustrative worldbuilding and a strong central hero with a clear mission and much to learn along the way. I really enjoyed the sense of legend that was built into the culture and atmosphere of Terran, as it gave the story a background tension that gradually built as the stakes got higher and higher for Evan. By the time he begins to uncover the secrets he’s sought, we really know him quite intimately, and I was rooting for him the whole time, even when the twists and surprises of the final plot arc came back to bite him. Overall, Striker's Search is a fantastic quest-style fantasy adventure with a lot of intriguing concepts, and I’d recommend it to fans of well-penned sword and sorcery tales everywhere.

Stirker's Search is a fantasy adventure story by Michael Lanz. Evan Striker is a respected knight and an accomplished witch hunter renowned for his battle prowess. It's been years since he has been searching for the powerful sorceress Calesso, last seen decades ago by any known human being. After an eventful trip to the town of Burgbard, where Evan meets his relatives, Evan resumes his search for Calesso. However, their arduous path will lead them to a confrontation with the ruthless King Ulitch.

Betrayal, romance, and plenty of action fill the pages of Striker's Search, taking us on a fantasy adventure with wild twists and turns. Fans of The Witcher series will find plenty to love in this fast-paced action-adventure tale. Just like Andrzej Sapkowski's novels, Michael Lanz's plot follows a deadly witch hunter who battles monstrous creatures and humans in the search for his past, finding unlikely allies along the way. Each character has motives that define their actions, giving them the agency that makes for some compelling character arcs. There are well-placed reveals that take you by surprise and keep you on your toes until the end. Recommended to fans of fantasy adventure stories.

Striker's Search by Michael Lanz follows the quest of Evan, the strangely sympathetic witch hunter, to find the powerful and legendary Calesso. His clues lead him to the town of Burgbard, where he asks about Korifall and Regeval. A man called Henry, who claims to be his uncle, tells him about the Broom Strands, a society of sorcerers who operate according to the king’s bidding. Henry promises to perform a finding spell if Evan fetches some Blueroot and Orbglow. Along the way, he meets Eda who is a great fighter and may be more than she seems. The two team up, but can they outsmart the knights and Broom Strands who appear determined to capture them for the king?

Striker's Search by Michael Lanz will appeal to readers who enjoy magical battles, a touch of mystery, and a humorous narrative delivery. I liked Evan because I felt his heart was in the right place and his quest was completely justifiable. I was excited to learn more about his background, thrilled by some of the connections he made, and frustrated by the betrayals he experienced. The Broom Strands and knights were annoying as they were popping up all the time, but their incompetence also made them comical villains. The king remained somewhat of a mystery, which I expect will be unveiled if a sequel is planned. I hoped a genuine romance was brewing with Perrefinee, although the byplay about an arrangement with Beatrice was fun too. In the final analysis, Striker's Search by Michael Lanz proved to be a fast-paced, eminently entertaining, adventure-based fantasy.

Striker's Search by Michael Lanz follows Evan Striker as he starts an almost impossible journey. Evan used to be a knight but now he is a wanted man. He switched professions to become a witch hunter but has a personal reason behind it. Evan has achieved everything he set his sights on, so now he is after something everyone deems impossible; to find Calesso, the sorceress who seems to evade everyone. Calesso has been successful at staying hidden for decades now, but this is Evan who hunts her. Unbeknownst to everyone, Evan doesn't seek to end her life - he wants to track down his family that was lost years ago. All Evan has to do is find Calesso and he will find his family. But is it ever that easy?

A total of 30 chapters felt too little for me. Striker's Search is written beautifully to be as immersive as a well-directed, Oscar-winning movie. Michael Lanz creates a believable universe with wholesome yet relatable characters who are easy to follow and root for. I loved Evan and his gritty approach to life. He has seen enough to become fixated on finding Calesso and finally getting what he has always wanted. Family is important to Striker and he is ready to do everything for it. Lanz creates an incredible journey filled with challenges and twists I could not foresee. Striker's character development is clear and fantastic. The pace is perfect and complements Striker's growth. The dialogues are good and the descriptions were crisp enough to transport me right beside Striker as he searched for Calesso. I loved it!
