It is New Year’s Eve, and Daisy’s fiancé, Logan, is killed after visiting her in the hospital. Evidence leads the police to Charlie, the man who can see and talk to her spirit. Making matters worse, evidence keeps disappearing or getting destroyed. With the help of a team of ghostly sleuths, Daisy solves the murder; they discover that an evil force is behind it. While Daisy has the information to solve the case, she must wake up from her coma to help the police. She’s also falling in love with Charlie. Can she wake up in time and save Charlie and Dandelion Ponds from a powerful evil force?
Beth Prentice’s That's the Spirit is an engaging mystery that unfolds at the start of the book. Fast-paced and full of action, it is a gripping read. This is a fascinating world populated by spirits and night demons. Daisy’s spirit friends helping her solve the murder case are enthralling and fun characters. The dialogue is full of suspense, and the storyline contains twists and clues to help readers solve the mystery. The story provokes reader involvement to piece together information and solve the case. It is also a unique love story, and Charlie and Daisy make a very unusual and intriguing couple. I highly recommend That's the Spirit.
