Their old log home may be small, but it is filled with lots of love, which is the most important thing. If you have love, you have all you need. Grandma moves in with Mom and her five babies in The Adventures of the Sister Cats: The Legend of the Pumpkin Moon. Four of the sisters are older. They are Libby, the oldest, Strawberry, Whiney, and Sporty. Emerson Paige Cochran masterfully tells the story of what happened as Halloween approached. The wise grandmother tells the four siblings a special story about the magic of the Pumpkin Moon and the scary pumpkin monster that lives in the spooky hollow. However, in the spooky hollow is a magical tree with candy. How can four kittens resist such a rare and wonderful treat? Will they disobey their grandma and go searching for the tree? Will the mean pumpkin monster get them? Is the pumpkin monster a mean monster or someone who needs love? Read this exciting story to discover the answers and learn the secret to being kind and loving.

In The Adventures of the Sister Cats, Emerson Paige Cochran shares the exciting story of the Pumpkin Moon and the four sister cats. For young children, this is an edge-of-the-seat type story. But, it will keep your child’s interest, and they will want you to keep reading to them. This story has just enough scare factors to make it suitable for Halloween but safe enough for young children to enjoy. Emerson writes in a manner that will draw your child into the story so they feel the magic and learn that parents protect their children even when they feel alone. Spend time with your child, teaching them that being different does not mean someone is scary or mean. Also, teach your child to reach out to those rejected by society and be a good friend to all. Sometimes all someone needs is a little love from someone else.

The Adventures of the Sister Cats by Emerson Paige Cochran is a children’s tale revolving around four silly cats, namely Libby, Strawberry, Whiney, and Sporty, along with the latest addition to the litter, baby Tiny. On a spooky Halloween night, Grandma Cat tells the kitties about the legend of the Pumpkin Moon, which appears once every 50 years. The legend says that if you make a wish under the Pumpkin Moon, your wish will be granted until the next sunrise. A special candy tree, displaying all sorts of candies that one can imagine, awaits the kitties on that fateful night. So, with all the kitties’ wishes prepared and the magical candy tree to tackle, the adventure of a lifetime is about to start.

The Adventures of the Sister Cats is a fantastic story of spooky magic, perfect for Halloween. I enjoyed the short, simple dialogue, which is exciting and easy for young readers to comprehend. The essence of the story has valuable life lessons on teamwork and friendship. Emerson Paige Cochran's descriptive writing is also well done, enabling us to imagine the creepy atmosphere during this holiday season. I liked the various personalities of each kitty, giving them individuality and character. The beautifully illustrated book cover perfectly reflects the essence of this tale and shows how spooky, whimsical, and exciting it truly is. Overall, this was a fascinating read, and I'm sure many young readers will be hooked!
