Author Biography

I like things that are different, against the grain, and could be absurd. I also like beautiful designs and storytellings that speak to our emotions, expand our imaginations, and challenge stereotypes. Our lives would be pretty dull if we don't have them to prick our minds and illicit imaginations.

I got into writing for the sake of finding a creative outlet and it gives me the vehicle to create something that will last for ages. It has always been my inspiration and life's goal to create characters and worlds that hide in the crevices of our minds. In such doing, I hope I can create something that is interesting enough to share.

In The Antique by Peter Fang, in 220 CE near the border of Shu Han and Wei lived young witch Zi-Ling. On a pilgrimage to visit her ancestors' graves, she stumbles upon a warlord's young son who has been attacked by a tiger. Although she tries to save the boy from death, she is blamed for the attack. Her entire family is killed and Zi-Ling is sentenced to death. Before she is burned alive, Zi-Ling promises she will take her revenge on all the descendants of her accusers. Fearing her curse could come true, a monk places her ashes into six spell-bound boxes and hides them in different corners of the kingdom to prevent her resurrection. For hundreds of years, the descendants of Zi-Ling try to locate the missing boxes and finally they succeed. Now, Zi-Ling is ready for her resurrection and to finally get her revenge.

The Antique by Peter Fang is an incredibly imaginative plot with a rich, colorful narrative that transports you into every scene. The plot is action-packed, with scenes of tension and suspense woven throughout. The sub-plots were equally as interesting and strong as the main plot. To have so many great stories running alongside each other takes real creative talent which is rarely seen in fiction. The creativity of the author is not limited to just the story either; each one of the many characters has been created with such vision and imagination. The scenes involving Elise and Maria were especially disturbing and quite chilling to read. The conflict was perfectly placed throughout the story and the surprise twists kept coming. This is an outstanding book filled with demons, zombies, green huntsman spiders and examples of the best and worst of humanity. The ending was perfect, bringing the plot full circle back to where the story began.
