Ben Myers has done a superb job introducing The Apostles’ Creed: For All God’s Children to young readers. However, every Sunday morning, many if not most churches recite the Apostles’ Creed, but how many people understand what it means? Children recite it because that is what is expected, but unfortunately, many adults recite it by memory, having no clue about its biblical background. The author explains the meaning of the creed in layman’s terms. Too often, churches forget that people are not as familiar with rituals as in the past and blindly following the service order does no one any spiritual good. One must be taught the meaning behind the actions and this book will bring a deeper understanding to children. I have been a minister of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ for over 45 years and I highly recommend reading this book with and to your children. Be sure to answer any questions.

The Apostles’ Creed is the most significant summary of what Christians believe. It is considered the bare minimum of belief required to be called a Christian. Since this creed is so essential, it has always baffled me that the church does not take more time explaining its meaning and how to live out the faith. I am thankful that Ben Myers has made the effort to present The Apostles’ Creed, which explains the meaning behind the words. Believing in God the Father is nice, but who can claim Him as Father, and on what basis? What does one base entrance to heaven on? Is it our merits or the gift of Jesus the Son by God the Father? The author also includes a model worship service that families may practice. Most importantly, Bible verses justifying each section of the creed are listed at the end of the book. A great book to help children understand the most important creed in Christendom. Excellent work!
