Harris Reed was headed to the Site and he knew for sure magic was real after his arrival there. He was about to meet with the real powerful magicians and the receptionist handed him a rune-drawing wand. He met twins Ana and Silvia, Patrick Nash, and Chris Miyazaki while standing there and Patrick Nash showed him The Conjuring Dome which impressed Harris with its grandeur. Glen Turner, who came for their orientation, told the class the importance of secrecy and how the public wasn't ready for magic as yet. Harris did not know about the different kinds of magic at the Site but he learned there was a Realm Travel Department where people could go to other magical realms. The Site managed to conjure Zoth-Avarex, an actual dragon who took a direct line to the Space Needle and alighted on its top. He had some demands so General Morgan was sent by the United States government to negotiate. He had Bill Gulley, the Conjuring Project Manager, along with him as a magical advisor. Zoth-Avarex's demand was to get sixty-three billion dollars' worth of gold and treasure delivered to him. He also wanted his princess and to be left alone or he threatened to destroy the city. What was the management's plan to deal with this problem and what was Plan B?

Lockhaven is a fantastical story that will have readers spellbound by its magic and entertaining characters, and curious to know what will happen next as the story progresses. The author weaves many interesting elements into the plot, making a dig at the corporate culture, the allure of money, and the nuances and complexities of life. The characters are all well-sketched with a distinctiveness which not only gives them individuality but also makes them memorable. There is a lot of energy in Zoth-Avarex's character and what I like is that though there are many strong characters and compelling scenes, they do not overpower the plot. The twists and turns in the story are quite phenomenal as the author masterfully takes readers through this page-turner.

The Conjuring of Zoth-Avarex: The Self-Proclaimed Greatest Dragon in the Multiverse by K.R.R. Lockhaven is a fantasy fiction novel where magic is real and it is definitely not fun. When Harris joined the Site as a new Conjurer, he was excited to finally practice magic and have some fun. However, those dreams never came true. The Site conjured a dragon they wanted to use, but the tables turned in the blink of an eye. The dragon ate a man and kidnapped a “princess.” Somehow, it was up to Harris, Ana, and Jake to work together to stop the dragon. The task was simple: go to the realm where the dragon came from and gather everything they needed to send the dragon back. The task was bigger than anything Harris expected. He did not have the knowledge or the training to do it, but he had the enthusiasm and the support of his friends. Would he succeed in sending the dragon back? Or was there something bigger waiting to happen?

Oh wow, The Conjuring of Zoth-Avarex was a rollercoaster ride that I loved, a perfect mix of adventure and action. There was an adventure, magic, a dragon, a kickass “princess” and a naïve hero who learned to become a “hero” as the story progressed. Harris was a simple guy who was enthusiastic about what the future held for him. He was hoping for something exciting and when it did happen, Harris was stunned. However, K.R.R. Lockhaven gave him plenty of opportunities to grow, get hold of his bearings, and to use his brain. Despite being a fantasy, the story wasn’t far-fetched, the characters were believable and the plot was enjoyable. I was so grateful that K.R.R. Lockhaven didn’t really give strange names to the characters. That made the story more enjoyable to me. I hope the author comes up with a sequel soon!
