The people of Walandra have lived in fear since the evil Queen Alona had betrayed their trust and cast a dark spell over their kingdom. But they never gave up hope. Instead, they looked forward to the day when the foretold Champion would come to free them. Then, one day, sports-loving Cassy and her two siblings — Melissa and Aaron — traveled to their rich great-grandmother’s house for a vacation...and because their parents needed some alone time. It is there that Cassy stumbles upon and unlocks the secret of an ancient book. She is swept away to the magical realm, and soon learns her true destiny. She is the hero that the people of Walandra are waiting for. She is the only one who can lift the curse cast by the evil Queen Alona over the Kingdom of Walandra.

The Dragon’s Blood Key by Linda L Barton, is book one in the series and is a sword and sorcery fantasy for young and old readers alike. Expect to be spellbound. In the increasingly crammed field of kick-butt supernatural heroines, author Linda L Barton has created Cassy, a young heroine who stands out as one of the best. Aaron, as well as the cast of other characters in the book, are equally enthralling as they travel through the magical and mysterious world of Dragons. The Dragon’s Blood Key is a captivating and excellent read with plenty of twists and turns that make it all the more alluring. Imagery makes the scenes vivid in your head, and the book leaves you wanting more.

Dragon's Blood Key is a well written Fantasy with dragons, an evil queen, and adorable magical creatures that make the story unique. It also teaches the YA reader about the power of positive thinking and self-confidence.
The Author did an amazing job with the visual writing, and as each scene unfolded, I felt as if I were there experiencing the adventure with the protagonist.
