The Girl Who Adored Rembrandt is the third book in the Out of Time Thriller Series by Belle Ami, and a book for readers who enjoy art, mystery, and mind-blowing action mixed with history. Angela Renatus is a psychic art historian who receives visions of the theft of a valuable Rembrandt family portrait. When she starts investigating, it becomes clear that there is more at stake than just the stolen portrait. Things get complicated when she is haunted by her painful past life experience with her fiancé, Alex Caine, and she might be on the way to losing him again. Angela’s visions of Rembrandt are disturbing and she is irresistibly pulled towards the mystery. Alex is a former Navy Seal turned private investigator of stolen art and he will stop at nothing to ensure that he protects the one woman he has ever loved: Angela Renatus. But can he save her from the mysterious visions that draw her irrevocably towards the Rembrandt family secret?

The Girl Who Adored Rembrandt is the perfect example of a well-crafted mystery, with unforgettable characters and a plot that is as twisty as it is compelling. I enjoy stories with strong plot points and gorgeous prose and this is one of those stories. The intrigue is strong and the characters are rich. Angela was my favorite character in the story, a woman with a unique psychic gift, and I loved how the author uses her gift to make her suffer. The conflict is powerful and Belle Ami explores its psychological implications with brilliance. The Girl Who Adored Rembrandt is not your ordinary tale about art theft and sleuthing, but a story that is absorbing, following a robust character through an unusual path. It is gorgeously written, an intriguing, fast-paced novel with strong characters and themes.
