Were it not for his high school counselor Fidella Dolkowski, Randy Archer would have succumbed to the abuse from the brutes he called family. Fidella had secured Randy a scholarship to Harvard for two reasons. First, because Randy was brilliant, and had finished high school at sixteen. Second, to get him away from his family in Pittsburgh. By the time Randy graduated from the Harvard School of Medicine, he had accomplished what most of his peers would never have imagined in their wildest dreams. Apart from completing his studies in record time, Randy had married Elizabeth, a ravishing beauty from a wealthy and respected Boston family. However, the rebellious Elizabeth married Randy against the wishes of her family, who thought of Randy as a nobody from Pittsburgh. Randy’s bright future, along with his hopes of making a name for himself in the field of pathology at Harvard, were squashed when the institution denied him a post-doctoral position. Will the young couple survive the storm of temptations and hardship coming their way? Find out in Audrey Gale’s The Human Trial.

Lovers of medical thrillers with compelling tales of dysfunctional families, high school drama, college life, scientific discoveries, passion, love, deceit, betrayal, secrets, sacrifices, money, and power, will be hooked when flipping through the pages of Audrey Gale’s The Human Trial. Gale weaves an intriguing plot, featuring a dynamic and enthralling array of scientists, pundits, doctors, physicists, and bullies. The vivid descriptions capture the story’s mood and setting perfectly. I loved how dramatically some of the scenes were depicted. The edge-of-the-seat suspense and the plot twists left me in awe of Gale’s words. I never knew where the story was headed. Gale’s way of bringing out raw emotions made the characters authentic and easy to connect with. Randy closely mirrors the flaws of most human beings. They are quick to forget the people who went out of their way to help them. No matter how headstrong and resilient they may appear, they will break if pushed beyond their limits.
