Brazo Kane travels to Kansas City because his uncle, Texas Jack Kane, has died. His life from now on will change in every way. Uncle Jack left Brazo all of his earthly belongings and a mission to take Amanda, a very beautiful young girl, safely home to her family in South Dakota. Brazo believes he must complete this mission and so starts the perilous journey by horseback and train. Along the way, he is forced to defend Amanda against thieves trying to steal the diamonds she has hidden under her dress without Brazo’s knowledge, and much to his surprise, when the men come sneaking up on them. The pair must also pass through dangerous Indian territory and survive the Indian attacks. When boarding the train for the final piece of the adventure, they of course face more danger (I do not want to give away too many of the breathtaking events). They join a family heading to California in their Conestoga wagon and are joined by a few friendly cowboys; as well as spending some time in the small and usually dangerous towns they pass through.

The Last Gun-Shark will take you right back to the old days of the Wild West. I am a huge fan of adventures in the western genre and Joe Corso did not leave me wanting. I loved The Last Gun-Shark a lot. The action is constant and thrilling. I will be looking for other books by Corso because this author has quickly and suddenly moved up to the top of my book list. I urge you to read The Last Gun-Shark and promise you that you will not be disappointed!
