The Midnight Monster Train, written and illustrated by E.V. Eklund, is an enjoyable children’s adventure book. This captivating story invites the young reader to join a variety of ghouls and goblins on a bewitching train ride. The skeletons are singing while ghosts roam the cars as the train travels through the night. Embark on this journey to discover what the vampires, witches, mummies, and others are up to. Filled with humor and rhyming text, this book is a joy to read. Wonderful illustrations detail all the fun and mayhem going on throughout this train ride. A surprise awaits the reader in each travel car as the various activities that the monsters engage in are amusing and entertaining; dancing and cooking and more. This fun and spirited read will spark children’s imaginations as they wonder what it might be like to travel along with all the spooky characters. This spellbinding story, accompanied by E.V. Eklund's vivid and colorful illustrations, creates a magical and fun-filled experience for readers. The engaging and upbeat verse will make The Midnight Monster Train enjoyable for readers to listen to, and the antics and tricks of all aboard the train are a treat to see. My grandkids really enjoyed this book. A great deal of detail in the illustrations. They had fun trying to spot hidden scary items. The second grader was able to read it.
