The Outlaw and the Sheriff: Outlaw Brides is a Western romance by Charlene Raddon. It's 1887. Jerrellyn Ables is a young woman stuck with her family of bank robbers and gold looters alongside her younger brother, Brodie. After a robbery goes wrong, leading to the death of an innocent shopkeeper in the town of Pine Bluff, and Jerrellyn is inadvertently shot in the shoulder by her brother, Trap, she's tended to by the handsome ranch hand Blade McKendrick. Now, Jerrellyn is determined to reimburse a family hurt by the Ables gang's actions. Meanwhile, Blade, who has become the new county sheriff, has developed feelings for Jerrellyn and wants to rescue her from the nefarious plans of Pinkerton Agent Drew Hansberry, who wants to see her hanged. What's next in store for Jerrellyn and Blade?

Laced with romance, action, and drama, The Outlaw and the Sheriff is an entertaining yarn that leaves you wanting more. With a fast-paced narrative featuring a tightly plotted story and a cast of well-developed and distinctive characters, Charlene Raddon paints a vivid portrait of the Wild West that immerses readers. The author doesn't waste a single word and drops the reader into the midst of the action from the get-go. Readers will find themselves hooked from the very first page. Jerrellyn and Blade have wonderful chemistry, and romance fans will savor each scene featuring the two together. Jerrellyn's willingness to do the right thing while struggling with family loyalty is brilliantly captured. As someone who loves Westerns, I really enjoyed this book. Readers of historical fiction and romance novels are in for a treat with this book!
