The Resiliency Effect: How to Own Your Adversity to Act on Your Biggest Dreams by Cady North is a self-help book influenced by the author's own life. The author introduces herself and her troubles, many that are relatable. While distracting yourself and procrastinating can easily avoid problems, it will do nothing for you in the long run. "Bandaid Plans" rarely work long term. Instead, Cady North takes readers on a journey of self-discovery. Her career path in finances assisted the unique perspective that allowed her to address past trauma, psychological pain, financial planning, entrepreneurship, and careers in one swoop.

The Resiliency Effect has moved to one of the top seats of the self-help books I've read. It was well done overall and relatable. Readers will hear that the author experienced something similar, including her feelings. Putting thoughts and emotions into writing can be difficult, especially when you are trying to avoid them. Having someone else bring them up, like the author, allows readers to grasp onto something they may have never addressed. It also helps to know that the author has been in a similar place to where the reader might be. Looking at formatting, Cady North did well in this aspect as the pace of the chapters was consistent. The use of questions in the book, or audiobook, in this case, makes the book interactive and truly take root in readers' minds.

The narrator of this audiobook is the author, Cady North, who did remarkably well with The Resiliency Effect. Her pace and tone were even, and she had good inflection. There were a few moments that bordered on an extended pause. It took nothing significant away from the listening experience. In fact, it may have even helped her authenticity. It felt like I was having a conversation with Cady North where she was imparting some of her life experience and lessons she learned along the way. All in all, it was comforting to hear someone who sounded so grounded and encouraging. It's a book that I will undoubtedly listen to again.
