The wheels of time continue to turn for Estella and her family in The Road From Money: The Journey Continues (Part 3) the latest part in the series by Sylvester Boyd Jr. in which Estella recounts dealing with the latter years of segregation, the civil rights movement, and the beginning of what would eventually become the space race between America and the Soviet Union. She captures some personal experiences of a nation's citizens who are not yet ready to let go of racial discrimination in the face of the changing times as the heartbreak from the tragedies that marked that eventful period plays out. She revels in her successful business growth and the expansion of her family but little does she know fate has beautiful plans in store for her.

The Road From Money by Sylvester Boyd Jr. Is a historical novel following the life and times of Estella. I particularly like the way the author tells this story, as he uses specific historical moments as anchor points for the storyline while interlacing the primary character's personal story at the same time. The character's origins are not delved into deeply but this is to be expected from a book with prequels. Despite this, I was still able to follow the account with ease. The attention to detail is quite impressive. The speech from Martin Luther King is a masterstroke and Julia's constant reference to the challenges she faced growing up as a black woman in segregation-era America is in tune with the times. This is an impressive novel with a story that appeals to all who believe they can achieve greatness in the face of adversity.
