In The Sentience Series by Sherri Fulmer Moorer, Domino was a labor of love for three generations. Grandfather to granddaughter worked to get the project to integrate man and machine up and running. It was almost a reality until an event set the project back, and rumors of their code being sold on the Dark Web saw speculation running riot. That was why Kesei took matters into her own hands. The consequences weren't what she expected, nor were the secrets she uncovered. It took her time to recover from the trap set for her and prepare herself for the next step. Her best friend had moved on to a new project propelling humanity further into the future and there was nothing to stop her from following. Julissa had made a mistake, and Kesei was going to ensure she saw the error of her ways. She turned her back on her and their project and pursued the AAI, but now there was a new threat. The only possibility for survival could be reviving their past projects and how they could be combined to salvage the future from a threat that had been present since the dawn of time.

The Sentience Series by Sherri Fulmer Moorer comprises four gripping and imaginative books that are set in the not-so-distant future. Technology has advanced, ideas have evolved, and now it is mankind’s turn to reach new levels of evolution because if they don’t, their survival could hang in the balance. The series progresses from the beginning with Kesei and Domino to the world-changing event that puts the very future on the line. I loved seeing how the characters adapted, evolved, and changed throughout the story, and Moorer creates a believable world with events in the future that don’t seem far-fetched. Watching things unfold, questioning motives and intentions, and being surprised by the turn of events are just a few of the things I enjoyed about this involved and intricate plot. You are never really sure who is telling the truth, what actions will save and which will condemn, and watching the characters fight their way through these uncertainties gives them chance to shine. Involved, gripping, and enjoyable, this four-book series is worth every minute spent.
