The Stone Thread by J.R. Evangelisti is a most interesting book and very unusually written. It is a story within a story and it showcases how good triumphs over evil. It is science fiction, the paranormal, and a detective story all rolled into one. The author holds the attention of the reader from the first page as the book starts in ancient times, then jumps to 1980 A.D., and ends very dramatically in the year 3000 A.D.

The Stone Thread takes the reader through a maze of thoughts, words, and actions. It brings to light government conspiracies and how easy it is to cover up things that they don’t want the public, in general, to know about. J.R. Evangelisti has crafted characters that are both strong and weak and vulnerable but very believable. The author shows how our own minds can hold us hostage in the characters of Elizabeth Wellstrom, Doug Collins, Dr. Richard Brandlin, and Paul Jansaun also known as Skotoma.

The Stone Thread brings more characters into the book as it nears the closing stages but you find yourself eagerly reading just to find out how the two stories tie up and how all is revealed at the very end of the book. Two words that have been passed down through time are mentioned. The ending to this well-written book cannot be predicted. A must-read for anyone into the paranormal, science fiction, and the mysterious Well done, a good read.

Dr. Elizabeth Wellstrom studies words at the World Council for Scientific Development. Her boyfriend, Doug, works for her as her assistant. Dr. Wellstrom is about to make a presentation to the council in hopes to get funding for her project but to make a compelling request, she needs more information on the word she is researching, Skotoma. Dr. Wellstrom and Doug come up with a plan to get Dr. Herrington to run a research search to gather information on Skotoma. Using the information, Dr. Wellstrom finds an old case study on a Paul Janson in a mental institute and from there, the pair goes in search of Janson to find out what Skotoma means. What will they find on their wild goose chase and will the truth be more than they can handle?

J.R. Evangelisti's The Stone Thread is an action-packed murder mystery story that is sure to knock your socks off! The story jumps in with action right from the very beginning. A story with a sort of supernatural twist with the reference to immortal beings, there is surely something in here for all types of readers. It is also an epic murder mystery with a dramatic ending with the battle between good and evil. There were a few moments where I thought I figured out who the killer was, but the story kept throwing in more surprises. J.R. Evangelisti's The Stone Thread is a must-read. I look forward to reading more of their work.

The Stone Thread, First Chronicle is the first novel in The Stone Thread series by J. R. Evangelisti. Intelligent and beautiful, Dr. Elizabeth Wellstrom, a.k.a. Ellie, loves her job as a historic word researcher. It is interesting, keeps her on her toes, and allows her to look up something fantastic almost every day. However, when Ellie comes across a word whose origins date back centuries, she views it as a challenge. Joined by her boyfriend/co-worker Doug, Ellie starts an investigation that takes a dangerous turn. Before she knows it, a mad killer is after her, and there is no stopping the killer. She and Doug have to figure out the mystery behind this word before the killer catches up to them.

Fast-paced and well-thought-out, The Stone Thread is everything a reader needs to be occupied for hours. Ellie is the type of protagonist readers fall in love with. She is relatable, comfortable, and very likable; all the traits that make her a hit for me. While the characters are very important in the plot, author J. R. Evangelisti makes sure readers appreciate the story for the masterful narrative. The author left clues in between the twists and turns, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in the story and then revealing the actual twists that shape the future of the story. One read-through is not enough; you need to read this novel again and again to get the full experience. I will not be surprised if this novel gets turned into a movie very soon.

I'm a fan of his work too! His music has a deep impact on me and I enjoy his various albums including 'Geese and the Ghost' and 'Wise After the Event'. '1984' also left a strong impression on me with its deep and dark atmosphere.
