After years of scheming and plotting, Hezbollah, the proxy Islamic terrorist group, has come up with an ultimate act of revenge on the US. They are going to destroy a large operating nuclear plant on the East Coast and cause millions of American deaths from radiation exposure. Kicking their plan into motion, they have deployed trained jihadist warriors into the community surrounding the target nuclear plant, allowing no room for error. Unknown to Hezbollah, the Department of Homeland Security has sniffed out this threat from its numerous intelligence sources. But there’s one problem. There are 35 nuclear plants on the East Coast of the US, and DHS has yet to determine which one is the intended target. DHS wastes no time in flooding each possible target site with its agents. It turns out the nuclear plant near Saratoga Springs, a small village in upstate New York, is the likely target. Senior Detective Chris Taylor of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department finds himself working with DHS to curb the looming disaster in his backyard. Is it too late for him to stop the attack? Find out in Jimmy Ray Conner’s The Transparent Terrorist: Martyrs in Their Midst.

Jimmy Ray Conner’s The Transparent Terrorist will hook fans of spy and terrorist thriller novels. Running the plot on a double timeline, Conner compellingly unfolds the cloak-and-dagger storyline, spinning the story around the personal conflicts of a dynamic cast of characters. The vivid depictions of the scenes had me feeling like I was next to every character and in the middle of all the action. As a reader, I was hurled into a world of espionage, betrayal, corruption, murder, vengeance, terrorism, adventure, action, suspense, and so much more. Conner brings out the cast’s complex traits, wonderfully depicting their emotions. Chris Taylor is a savvy, intrepid, and intuitive detective who will quickly become your favorite. Although this is the third installment in the Chris and Kate Taylor mystery series, The Transparent Terrorist is also an excellent stand-alone read.
