Dr. David Ko and Richard Busellato’s The Unsustainable Truth: How Investing for the Future is Destroying the Planet and What to Do About It is a book about conflict: The modern dilemma between saving for a sustainable future, while at the same time making a living. As everything is inextricably linked by investment and economics, David Ko and Richard Busellato explore and investigate how people rely on these to create a state of sustainability and a semblance of security. The over-reliance on these resources has led to a pending, or in some cases, a real depletion of ecological sustainability. Universally, we are locked in a cycle of commerce over comfort; consumerism over considerations of climate change. The Unsustainable Truth makes sense of it all.

The Unsustainable Truth is a well-researched work. David Ko and Richard Busellato present very topical and intriguing information about the state of affairs concerning economics and the environment. Drawing connections between finances and natural resources, this book is great for anyone. I was particularly interested in the authors' detailed descriptions of our actions' impact on the planet as consumers and inhabitants of this world. The coverage of bitcoin was very interesting and helped me understand how it works. Overconsumption and overpopulation are two things that have always concerned me, and I found the facts about these reinforcing and reassuring. I side with David Ko and Richard Busellato in their opinions on these issues and know how to argue about these topics with more conviction now.
