The Warmaker is an electrifying thriller by Benjamin Spada. A congressman burst into flames in the middle of a crosswalk, leaving behind nothing but a blackened skeleton, and the evidence suggests that enemies used a highly sophisticated and lethal weapon. The Black Spear organization is employed by the United States to identify those who are accountable. They are in the fight of their lives against enemies who are determined to launch World War III. To thwart these evil schemes, Cole West, Captain Vaun, and their crew must overcome overwhelming odds. With almost certain death in sight, Black Spear rushes headlong toward the danger. To stop a devastating worldwide nuclear war, they have a few aces up their sleeves, but the team must work together to prevent the disaster.

The Warmaker is powerful and intense. Benjamin Spada had me on the edge of my seat with his immersive storytelling. It was fast-paced and filled with action, mystery, and suspense. With all the twists and turns, I never knew what would happen next. It was unsettling to consider that sophisticated, cutting-edge weaponry might end up in the wrong hands. The descriptions of the events were vivid, and it was unbelievable to learn about people combusting spontaneously. The characters were authentic and relatable. Cole West’s character was strong, and I joined him on this incredible journey. He had to make difficult decisions and never hesitated. This outstanding thriller was brilliantly written and brought advanced weaponry to my doorstep. I had high expectations for the story, and these were exceeded by far.

It appears that Cole West may be considering leaving Black Spear. He believes that he has given the covert organization his all and that it is now time to resume his regular life. His team is once more called into action before he has a chance to carry out his intentions. Suspicions that an old enemy is at work are high when a CIA agent's extraction goes wrong and some of the employees of their armaments partner disappear. West is about to discover just what kind of a man he is as the fate of the world rests in his hands in Benjamin Spada’s The Warmaker.

A case of industrial espionage is taken too far in Benjamin Spada’s The Warmaker. The plot has the sort of activity one would find in classic warfare novels while the characters have solid origin stories laced with previous dealings with their opposition. This builds up a level of anticipation in the reader of a major skirmish at some point. The flow of the conversations between the characters is easy to follow. It varies from technical and rapid when there are altercations between the combatants to something I would find more at home in a James Bond story. Nothing personifies this more than when West has to get Madison out of harm's way on her day off. The two things that stand out in this novel and give it an authentic feel of an engaging cliffhanger are the quality of the futuristic firepower on offer and the Marstelli brothers’ appreciation for pure combat. Spada’s The Warmaker is an action junkie's dream novel.

It is only after escalation that things become clearer. Cain, Rourke, and Michael are attacked, and the limousine they are traveling in is sprayed with bullets. Samuel Cain had hoped to serve his country in the forces, but he became asthmatic and had to find other ways to be patriotic. Rourke heads the Black Spear, which uses the magnificent weapons manufactured by the Common Defence Industries, headed by Samuel Cain. Michael Goode heads the intelligence wing of this defense trinity. Despite Singh being educated in the US, he has turned and joined the enemy. Will he succeed in his devious plans? The Warmaker by Benjamin Spada is a must-read! The expertly woven plotline and the incomparable prowess in the narration captured my attention from the first chapter to the last. It's hard to put the book down once you start reading it. I loved how vivid the author was with descriptions of events, places, and emotions. This helped to create a mental picture of what was happening. The characters are also well-developed, and Spada uses suspense to great effect. The twists and turns in the flawlessly flowing plotline kept me on the edge of my seat and yearning for more. Some of the concepts captured, such as war and weapons development, are thought-provoking, especially now that tensions are rising among different countries. I cannot wait to read something else by this talented author.
