Kimberly Brighton’s The Way to Cape May features four friends and their love stories. Delaney and Dalton are engaged to be married on June 17th. As a criminal defense attorney, Delaney’s latest case to exonerate an innocent man has kept her too busy to do her wedding plans. Marley and Sam are interns for Delaney and know how much the case means to her. Despite Marley's long-distance relationship, the two interns are always together. While Delaney is a goal-oriented planner, her sister Kate believes in destiny. Kate reads about her ex in a magazine and is shocked to see that he has become a successful CEO. Meanwhile, Cleo, a part-time bartender, has been having a fling with the prosecutor against Delaney. Wells’ whispered words, “I think I’m falling for you,” cause Cleo to panic.

The introduction to The Way to Cape May is unique, with the wedding invitation and the bridal party list. The interactions between Marley and Sam made me believe they were both holding back feelings. Cleo’s belief that she was incapable of being loved turned into a wall against relationships. Kimberly Brighton depicts each couple's perspective in vivid detail. The dates counting down to the day of the wedding made the timeline easy to follow. Every transition between each person was flawless. The unpredictable plot kept my interest, as every page gave another piece to each puzzle. Kate’s doubts about her past actions and her belief in destiny made sense. Every woman had to make decisions that could alter their lives. The Way to Cape May will appeal to romance readers who enjoy stories that give a realistic view of individual progress in love.
