Author Biography

I am a single mom of 5 with 4 wonderful grandchildren. The reading bug was something I was lucky to have shared with my mom. I am beyond grateful for the memories I have of reading with her as a child and as an adult!
Things I Know About Moms is 16 things about Moms that I am thankful for and wish that I could have expressed to my mother while she was here.
I hope this book creates bonds between mothers and children and inspires gratitude in our youth.

Moms worldwide often feel that their children don't appreciate them. In this fun picture book for children aged four to six, Mommy Pleasant shares with us the good things that make moms great. Things I Know About Moms: 16 ways Moms Are Amazing! reminds us about the many things mothers do for their children, how much they love and show that love to them, and the valuable things they teach their kids. The book describes the critical character traits of moms that help them raise their children, teach them practical life skills, and share fun and creative activities with them. Because mothers are good listeners, children will still long for them even after they are parents themselves. Besides giving them a lot of love, one of the most precious things a mom can do is read to her children.

I loved the simple sketches that help to enhance the message in Things I Know About Moms by Mommy Pleasant. The clear font will make it easy for little ones to read along. They will realize that even though mothers can be quite different, many character traits are common. Kids will love the opportunity to draw some of the cool things their moms do for them in the space provided at the end of the book. Even more than a story for kids, this is a book for all moms to quietly sit and read on those days they feel their efforts are not appreciated. It will remind them again of the value they add to their children's lives and why they keep doing it even without any thanks. I loved this book, and I think it will be read by moms more often than kids.
