This Flag Does Not Come Down is a motivational spiritual memoir written by Art Evans. Evans relates his life story since his adolescent years, providing a thorough breakdown of his struggles and how his faith in Jesus Christ helped him overcome some of the darkest times of his life. Mired in drugs and alcohol at a young age, Art likens the seductive nature of corrupt influences in his adolescent years to pirates in the seventeenth century. He was held at gunpoint by a drug dealer, he lied to his parents who were pastors, and had a brush with the law for driving intoxicated in Kaufman County. However, even when he lost his way, the voice of God always remained in his heart. After he meets the love of his life, he once again finds his path.

An inspirational tale showcasing the power of faith and how it revitalizes one's life, This Flag Does Not Come Down is an absorbing read for Christians and non-Christians alike. Art Evans' narrative is a breeze to go through, and he masterfully showcases the role of Jesus Christ in helping him find his way once again. Evans' belief and inherent goodness stop him from continuing his wayward behavior and get him back on track to forge a new life. As far as memoirs go, This Flag Does Not Come Down feels authentic and leaves a lot to ponder about long after you've finished reading the book. If you're looking for something inspirational and motivational, I highly recommend it.
