Author Biography

Amanda Brenner is a native Midwesterner who has traveled extensively throughout the United States, and who now lives quietly with her husband and an assortment of wildlife visitors to their urban home. Her interest in writing began at an early age when westerns were popular attractions at the local theater. It seemed only natural that her first novel, Trail of Vengeance, should be in that genre. After finishing a second western, Shadow of the Rope, she began to explore a new direction and completed three contemporary mysteries involving private investigator Sid Langdon, a self-doubting magnet for offbeat clients and hapless scenarios, the latest being The Mystery of the Nourdon Blue. Amanda enjoys learning from the books she reads, a characteristic reflected in the research she includes in her own works.

Saying I loved reading Trail of Vengeance feels like an understatement. From the intriguing book cover and title to the captivating plot, everything about it is incredible. The story sucked me in and made my emotions run rampant. Amanda Brenner does an outstanding job of maintaining a high level of tension throughout. A chill went down my spine in the description of Cross and Hank’s first encounter. The two have completely opposite personalities but share a mutual respect for one another. What made the story suspenseful was not knowing when Cross might attack. His calm and sinister demeanor when he received the devastating news about his little brother was scary. The story tackles the topics of justice and vengeance and makes you wonder if they are worth pursuing. The book is well-written, and the author perfectly captures the lifestyle and culture of the era. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading revenge stories with formidable characters and a suspenseful plot. Brilliant writing.
