Brett and Gabby were enjoying their married life until it came crashing to a halt. He rode a bull, fell, and became paralyzed with brain damage. Gabby loved him to bits and took up his care. She was wasting away until her ex-fiance, Richard, showed up. He was the Texas state US senator and the potential governor, courtesy of Gabby’s dad. Richard was determined to win back Gabby’s heart but soon found that he had to compete with Stan, her stepmother’s son. While Stan had all the love to give, Richard came with love and a sprinkle of arrogance. It was a dilemma for Gabby, though in truth her heart still yearned for her husband. Can any of these men mend her broken heart? Find out in True Love Knot: Entangled – A Caregiver’s Story by DonnaLee Overly.

True Love Knot by DonnaLee Overly is a beautiful novel with a heartbreaking story. It had a brilliant plot and emotional storyline that told the story of caregivers who are also spouses to the disabled. It is a tough time when all the senses are sharp and dull at the same time. And then there’s the test of resilience, faith, hope, and knowing when to let go. I felt Gabby’s grief, anger, heartbreak, and moments of weakness. She was a powerful woman. DonnaLee told a touching story and did such a masterful job with character development so that it all felt so real. I developed a huge respect for Wayne and felt his helplessness when super dad couldn’t fix that one thing. The dialogues were smooth and continuity was effortless. Thank you, DonnaLee, for a great book. Please write more.

A young man sustains severe injuries while participating in a bull ride, thrusting his wife into the role of a caregiver in DonnaLee Overly’s moving romance novel True Love Knot: Entangled - A Caregiver's Story. Four months following the accident, Gabby King remembers their bright past as newlyweds excited at the prospect of spending many years together. Their dreams are crushed in an instant. By now, she has learned her husband’s routine. Though she thought that he had a better chance of recovery if she cared for him, he continues to slip further away. Gabby also struggles to forgive herself for seeking emotional support from her ex-boyfriend at a point when she was overwhelmed by her husband’s condition. She shuts her family out as she tries to battle Brett’s illness alone.

True Love Knot shows Gabby’s turmoil at a slow yet steady pace while she faces the devastating news of her husband’s accident and the long days as she hopes for his recovery. She handles the situation as she battles feelings of guilt and frustration. A fascinating political drama unravels parallel to Gabby’s story. Her powerful father has groomed her ex-boyfriend to become the next Texas governor. But secrets could ruin his chances, and Gabby must distance herself from him at the time she needs him the most. Apart from exploring themes about grief, emotional support, politics, and romance, the novel also inspires hope toward the end. True Love Knot: Entangled - A Caregiver's Story by DonnaLee Overly is a beautifully told novel with heart-breaking twists and a perfect ending.

True Love Knot: Entangled, A Caregiver’s Story is a work of fiction in the romance and women’s genres. It is suitable for the general adult reading audience and was penned by DonnaLee Overly. The book follows several characters as their lives intertwine with each other at the whim of fate. Gabby has become a caregiver to her husband but seeks solace in her ex’s bed. Richard is campaigning for governor with a beautiful campaign manager at his side. Wayne is swerving to avoid a political scandal, only to make things more complicated for everyone. Stan is struggling with his feelings for Gabby, risking his settled life in the process.

This book is a wonderfully executed tapestry of complicated people and their struggles with temptation and regret. Each of the characters that DonnaLee Overly has imagined is brought to life dynamically and believably, and it doesn’t take long for each of them to lure the reader into investing in their journeys. In particular, the struggle of Gabby to balance her duties as a wife and caregiver to her husband after his accident against her own need for comfort and intimacy that he can no longer provide was beautifully presented. True Love Knot does an excellent job of deftly moving between the strands of each character’s story in such a way that keeps readers hooked on each of those threads from the opening until the satisfying conclusion. This book is a brilliant romance, and I’d happily recommend it to any fans of the genre.
