Valentine Acts 1 & 2 is an intense work of interpersonal drama and thriller fiction with romance and horror elements penned by author Elliott Morreau. This epic-length double novel is best suited to mature adult readers owing to some extreme content that forms the central part of the narrative throughout the tale, including graphic sexual situations, bloody gore and violence, explicit language and explicit references to the use of hard drugs, discussions of abuse both to adults and children. Our central protagonists are Jack and Lia, who begin the story on the run from the law as Lia has murdered her own father. The fugitives’ lives become even more entangled in a wild series of twists, punishments, new figures, drug addictions, and the complexities of their own tainted, forced love story. What results is a chilling drama with deep psychological explorations and powerful motifs of people going to gruesome extremes for love.

Author Elliott Morreau delivers a bold work that is certainly not for the faint-hearted reader, and will definitely stick in the minds of its audience long after you’ve closed the covers at the end of its epic journey. Although it was an enormous action-packed tale with loads of twists and exciting scenes, the pace and accessibility of the writing made it a work that was really swift to read and kept me turning the pages. In terms of characterization, Jack and Lia make for a really interesting central pairing, and it’s clear that the author has thought long and hard about the development of their individual psyches as well as the climactic and dangerous combination that they are as a pair. Lia was especially interesting to me in her twisted ways of thinking, and the dramatic traumas that she’s been through give you plenty of insight into why she makes such wild decisions. This complements the plot for a truly unpredictable ride and leaves you wanting to know more at the end of every section. Valentine Acts 1 & 2 was also a highly cinematic read with vivid descriptions of both characters and settings, and would certainly make an amazing horror series for television, albeit a genuinely frighting late night one! Overall, I would recommend Valentine Acts 1 & 2 for mature readers seeking no-holds-barred action, thrills, and truly chilling fiction.
