Meet Vinny the vegetarian vulture who lived in a verdant valley on the verge of a volcano in the storybook Vinny the Vegetarian Vulture: A fun read-aloud illustrated tongue-twisting tale brought to you by the letter V by Sally Lee Baker. He went to the voles' valley daily to get his vegetables. The voles disappeared whenever Vinny went to the village and he had to remind them that he was a vegetarian. Vinny's other vulture friends visited him so that they could go to the valley and feast on vermin, veal, and venison. It was actually these vultures who increased the voles' fear of Vinny even though he kept saying he was a vegetarian. Vinny felt vulnerable. Violet Vole decided to find out if Vinny's claim of being a vegetarian was true. What does she do to reassure the other voles that Vinny is indeed a vegetarian?

Vinny the Vegetarian Vulture is adorable and will educate young readers on the words that can be used with V. The illustrations are bright and colorful and they bring the story to life. The story is a great way to teach children words with V in an entertaining fashion so that they don't get bored. The book can be used in classrooms for read-aloud and storytelling sessions to cleverly introduce children to the letter V in an interesting tongue-twisting way. Sally Lee Baker's approach to the topic is unique and original and she makes learning fun and interactive. The idea of highlighting the V in the story is a good one because it helps children get acquainted with V words in an engaging way.
