Vision: An Inclusive Alternative to End the Arab-Israeli Conflict is all about finding peace in the Middle East. Could we really have peace in the Middle East just by getting along? Well, there is much more to it than that, but Ahmed Elnakouri details a simple yet powerful plan to end the conflict and bloodshed in the Middle East. Along the way, he gives us a sense of the history and a perspective that is both concise and informative. As someone who grew up in the region (Egypt), he may have a keener sense of the issues and the potential solutions than many of the pundits screaming away on radio and television.

As I was reading Vision: An Inclusive Alternative to End the Arab-Israeli Conflict, I thought of John Lennon's “Imagine.” “You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us and the world will be as one.” John Lennon was a dreamer and Elnakouri seems to also be a dreamer. But why not dream? Governments and politicians haven’t come up with a plan yet.

Vision: An Inclusive Alternative to End the Arab-Israeli by Ahmed Elnakouri does seem to portray Western and Israeli atrocities more than those from the other side, but his solution is balanced and fair. It's an interesting book with an intriguing plan for a volatile area. It's easy to read, combines personal narrative with historical context, provides information on others striving for peace, and offers some insight into an area which almost defies definition. I say send this book to every politician in our country and to all the leaders in the Middle East.
