S. Elizabeth lives down in the hot, piney woods of East Texas. She is a designer of interiors, photographer, illustrator, writer and publisher with more than two decades of experience. Over the years, her entire career has levitated on the canopy of art, in general. When she is not working she is spending a hefty portion of her time guiding her two boys, through the pages of life with much humor and (patience ?). Most recently, her family experiences and artistry have taken her, in a step, towards the quirky and twisted world of story telling, for the unusual adolescent. Her creative sense of humor and love for science will encourage children to be themselves no matter what others might think of them, and at the same time breed a curious fantasy into the matrix of their minds.
She is the author and illustrator, of What if...ZOMBIES Were Nice, and is releasing each book as a chapter ultimately building toward a grand finale. The books are written for the youth using adolescent grunge language and humor. Short politics and actual science experiments are the nucleus within the pages of each book.

Zombies aren’t exactly the cuddly things that puppies and kittens are. In fact, the rotting flesh and the smell can be a pretty good deterrent for getting to know them better. Arrow and Fig Creed did get to know the zombies who lived across the street in What if… Zombies Were Nice? by S. Elizabeth. When someone moved into the house across the street, Arrow and Fig had no idea what kind of adventure was about to unfold for them. The new neighbors seemed to keep to themselves a lot, but when school started the next fall, they discovered that the neighbors had a son in the sixth grade. His name was Kevin and he was a zombie. Initially, Arrow was afraid of Kevin, but he soon discovered that he wasn’t too bad once you got past the smell. Arrow and Fig began visiting Kevin daily, working in the lab in the basement at Kevin’s house. They were working on developing a Super Zombie Glue that would help zombies everywhere. Though the friendship that developed might seem a little bit strange at first, it was the beginning of a strong bond between the boys.
What if… Zombies Were Nice? is a humorous book with a subtle message. S. Elizabeth demonstrates how you can’t always judge someone by the preconceived ideas that you might have about them. The humor and language is definitely befitting a sixth grader and shows the extreme creativity of the author whose story monkeys seem to serve her quite well. Humorous, creative and fun, What if… Zombies Were Nice? is a must-read for the kid who is totally obsessed with zombies, chocolate, and oranges.
