Author Biography

My name is Teresa Bruni and for over a decade, I wrestled with a chronic illness, seeking relief in the corridors of Western medicine. Despite the best efforts of top-tier doctors over seven long years, the elusive promise of wellness remained out of reach.

When the medications meant to heal began to wreak havoc on my well-being, I knew it was time for a change. Taking matters into my own hands, I set out on a quest for healing that defied convention. Through grit, determination, and a touch of intuition, I found my way back to health and vitality.

Now, as I stand on the other side completely healed, I invite you to join me on this journey of resilience and triumph. As an alternative healer, I offer solutions to those facing chronic illness, guiding them toward a future rich with vitality, purpose, and endless possibilities.

In Why You're Sick and How to Get Well, Teresa Bruni, an alternative healer, shares her journey of overcoming chronic illness, advocating for surrendering for healing while addressing societal attitudes toward illness and fear versus love. Bruni teaches distinguishing surrender from giving up, discussing its role in conserving energy, and guiding healing processes. She addresses the psychological and physiological impacts of fear and offers insights and strategies for overcoming it. Through personal experiences and therapeutic approaches, Bruni aims to empower readers to navigate their healing journeys with self-awareness and resilience, providing practical exercises in a Companion Workbook. She discusses the significance of recognizing and addressing unintended benefits associated with illness and emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to healthcare, cautioning against overreliance on medications. Bruni covers topics like stress management, trauma resolution, nutrition, sleep, exercise, detoxification, emotional healing, and lifestyle choices as integral components of the healing process, encouraging self-awareness, positivity, and faith in one's healing potential.

In Why You're Sick and How to Get Well: Revealing Everything Western Medicine Isn't Telling You, Teresa Bruni delivers a wonderfully informative and helpful resource that blends personal anecdotes with her professional knowledge and understanding of holistic healing. The way she writes is comfortably conversational, which is helpful since some of the topics are more complex than others, and her communicative, friendly style makes it very accessible. I am a woman of East Asian descent who grew up with Eastern medicine as the first line of defense and initially approached the book as a refresher. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of new information I gleaned, although I will never tell my grandmother that. Bruni's discussion on nutrition particularly stood out, and it was interesting to allow for a deeper exploration of the crucial role of a balanced diet in warding off illness and fostering recovery. Bruni cautions against processed foods and excessive sugar intake and emphasizes gut health and the importance of supplementation. Very highly recommended.
