Your Words Your World, authored by Louise Bélanger, will awe and inspire you. This is more than a work of poetry. It is more than just beautiful photographs. It is both of these, but it is more a testimony to the glory of God. The Scriptures say that God’s glory is revealed in His creation and this book proves the point. The photographs of nature will delight your eyes. The words of the poems will dance in your mind. But the important thing about this book is that it points to the Savior on every page. Louise features Christ in her poetry. She builds Him up. This book will inspire and encourage the reader. It will touch the senses as well as the mind. Read this book and bask in the love of God.

Louise Bélanger is a servant of the Most High God. She may not be a pastor nor preach traditional sermons, but in Your Words Your World, Louise speaks volumes concerning the glory and love of God. Her poetry is free verse. She does not belabor the lines with contrived rhymes. She allows her love for Jesus to flow from her heart to the page. Reading her poetry reveals her heart for God. Louise writes about things with which we can all identify. Her photography is creatively displayed in full-page layouts. Some of the layouts are creative. Others are straightforward. Between the photos and poems, readers will be taken to a relaxing and refreshing place. Read this book if you need an emotional or spiritual pick-me-up. It is a wonderful book. It was a joy to read what Louise Bélanger wrote to the glory and honor of God.

Your Words Your World by Louise Bélanger is a compilation of the author's original poetry and photography. The photographs are snapshots of nature, some of them being as taken as is and others being nominally manipulated to provide something of an artistic feel to them. The poems are straightforward with a storytelling theme as it pertains to God, nature, and the range of feelings and experiences associated with them on a personal level. Lines occasionally carry a rhyme scheme although they are definitely freeform, with some employing repetition, stressed syllables, and modest rhythm through assonance. All told there are nearly thirty poems in the collection with Bélanger's photographs interspersed every one to three pages following.

I think sometimes we get so caught up in chasing the most literary work we are told we should like that we frequently forget what it means to listen to the words of our neighbors and friends. And by this I mean everyday people, whether we know them or not. Your Words Your World is unassuming and without a hint of pretension, and for me this makes what Louise Bélanger wants to share with us feel more real. More authentic. In a world where crisp filters and brilliant colors in photography have a journalistic quality even when taken on a phone, I don't believe the photos here are going to bowl anyone over. That said, they retain a bit of charm in the same vein as when I am holding old pictures from my childhood in my hand. Along these lines also brings me to my favorite poem in the book called 'Sometimes...' It is a nod to the individuality of thought and a perfect way to encapsulate Bélanger's grasp on delight in the little things in life, particularly in the line, “Not in a bragging way, Not in a proud way, On the contrary...” A solid book of poems for all.

Your Words Your World is a collection of poems by Louise Bélanger that encompass themes from religion, faith, understanding, compassion, belief, and much more. No need to be a religious person to enjoy the purity present in every poem. Each poem is accompanied by a landscape picture, making it the perfect companion to a poem. Sometimes it is hard to put words into images, but these specific pictures somehow captivate the feelings portrayed in the poems. The author is constantly reminding her readers that we all come from the same place; we must always remember that we all have different lives but come from the same dust. In the end, we all suffer, fall in love, lose someone, and live day by day as if it was the last one.

After reading these poems in Your Words Your World, I have found a great sense of comradeship and belonging. Sometimes we think we are better alone, but when paired up with compatible people, we end up creating and fixing things better than we ever thought we could. The faith of God continues to help people in their everyday lives; it is the push that we sometimes don’t get from the people that surround us. Why not seek it with a higher force that can always help? Louise Bélanger’s poems are varied in theme but similar in feeling throughout the collection. I felt a sense of inner peace and that everything was going to be all right. Her poems are timeless; they will always be relevant for the human being, in whatever world or reality we end up.

There is no such thing as ordinary. God created us all uniquely and individually, like the stars in the sky and planets that dot the universe. We are all one creation and one with God. “Because of God/ Ordinary/ Disappeared/ His power made it so.” With God, all things are possible and, with God, the world around us is stunningly beautiful. Capture this beauty in verse, in words, in thoughts, and in images, but hold onto it for all its precious qualities and savor the beauty of the world around us.

Louise Bélanger’s book, Your Words Your World, is a sensitive and heartfelt reflection on life, the world around us, and how we are all connected through God’s love and His omnipresence: “there is no place/ Where God is not there.” Using poetry and photography as her medium of reflection, the poet/ artist leads the reader through many complex and simple thoughts and situations: love, death, loss, nature, memories of special occasions like Christmas and so much more. Even time is reflected upon - “Time…/ Did you notice/ That time seems to have/ A mind of its own?” And then there’s music: “Music…/ There is something in it/ That connects with our soul/ Our emotions.” The poems are free verse and full of vivid metaphors to connect the reader to the deeper thoughts of what the poet is sharing. There are quite a few stunning photographs of images from nature to add to the deeply emotive presentation. A beautiful and sensitive look at the glorious world God created for us.
